| We are now promoting a new night Chance @ Clockwork (66-68 Pentonville Road, Islington, N1). Our opening night was a roaring success and somehow was reported in the bizarre section of 'The Sun'. The lineup was thus, Sound of the Nudge, Baggie 3 piece with some proper stompers in their repertoire, Check out 'Glam Plastic' and that'll give you an indication of what there about www.myspace.com/soundofthenudge Next up were Alan another northern 3 piece with echoes of The Coral and The Charlatans quality songwriting and a drummer who's head may one day explode www.myspace.com/alantheband, Following on from this and the pace just kept on increasing 'The Wireless' beyond there years and a massive future before them thrashed through a set including there new single 'he's so proud' frenetic post punk. Most bands would carve there hearts out to play like these lads www.myspace.com/thewireless. Last but certainly not least 'Love Minus Zero' www.myspace.com/loveminuszerouk these boys were made for the stage and they ripped it up. With there pleasing brand of new wave, bluesy, rock these lads brought some pedigree to the evening the Perret boys being original members of the Babyshambles ably accompanied by Oskar and Eliot. With members of punk outfit Dogs in the audience as well as radio one dj Letitia it seems word is already getting around. The night itself is based on chance. On entry the entry fee is based on an element of luck as each person chooses from a reduced deck of cards (2 to 5) to decide their entry fee. There is an ace or two in the pack and if this is revealed entrance is gratis. More chance ocurrence will be tied into the nights as we progress with drinks offers and scratch cards ,etc due for future evenings. Chance can be attended on the second Thursday of every month with the next one taking place on November 8th. Bands already confirmed are Footsteps and Voices www.myspace.com/footstepsandvoices and Dirty Electric www.myspace.com/dirtyelectric. See you there. |
